Description of programme
"IPA CBC Greece – Republic of North Macedonia"
The aim of this Programme is to improve the living standards and employment opportunities in the Programme area while taking into account the protection of the environment and the use of natural resources to promote the tourism product. In order to achieve these objectives, the Programme will focus on the following Priority Axes (PA) and Specific Objectives (SO):
  • PA 1 - Development and Support of Local Economy
    • SO 1.1 - Create employment opportunities for educated graduates by exploiting comparative advantages of the crossborder area, preferably with the use of innovative tools and practices
    • SO 1.2 - Improvement of preventive health care and social services of children and elderly population mainly in the rural crossborder areas
    • SO 1.3 - Improve the attractiveness and promote tourism in the cross-border area by promoting and capitalizing natural and cultural assets
  • PA 2 - Protection of Environment - Transportation
    • SO 2.1 Upgrade public infrastructure to improve road travel time, safe border crossing and promote energy efficiency towards green transport
    • SO 2.2 Sustainable management and recycling of bio-wastes
    • SO 2.3 Sustainable management of protected areas, ecosystems and biodiversity
    • SO 2.4 Prevention, mitigation and management of natural disasters, risks and hazards
  • PA 3 - Technical Support

"IPA Greece - Republic of North Macedonia - 2nd Call"
The present call is targeted and restrected to the following Prioriy Axes and related Specific Objectives:
  • SO 1.1 - Create employment opportunities for educated graduates by exploiting comparative advantages of the crossborder area, preferably with the use of innovative tools and practices;
  • SO 1.3 - Improve the attractiveness and promote tourism in the cross-border area by promoting and capitalizing natural and cultural assets;
  • SO 2.4 - Prevention, mitigation and management of natural disasters, risks and hazards.

Project Partner Details
  • Project proposals must include at least one beneficiary from Greece and one from the Republic of North Macedonia located/established inside the eligible Programme area;
  • Beneficiaries located outside the eligible area within the two countries are eligible under the condition that their activities are in benefit of the eligible area and their budget will not exceed 20% of the total project budget;
  • The total number of beneficiaries must not exceed four, including the Lead Beneficiary.
Further info The maximum duration of the project for each Spoecific Objective is: 
  • SO 1.1: 18 months
  • SO 1.3: 18 months
  • SO 2.4: 24 months

Financial details Total call budget: 6 million €
  • SO 1.1: 1.8 million €
    • Budget per project: min. 300 000 € - max. 1 million €
  • SO 1.3: 1.4 million €
    • Budget per project: min. 250 000 € - max. 750 000 €
  • SO 2.4: 2.8 million €
    • Budget per project: min. 500 000 € - max. 1.5 million €
Co-financig rate: max. 85%
A total of six to eight projects are expected to be sected for fundings
